I was born in Lancashire and studied Fine Art at Leeds University in the 1960's under Professor Quentin Bell. After careers in teaching and Town Planning I moved to Norfolk in 1982 and spent 20 years in the art business, working from my own gallery.
At the same time I continued to develop my painting. exhibiting in galleries in East Anglia and elsewhere. My work has been purchased by private collectors throughout the U.K.
I paint mainly in acrylics, a medium which suits my particular style, which is characterised by strong colour and composition. My subject matter includes still life, flowers, animals and the human figure, all treated in a very stylised manner. More recently I have been producing ceramics and hand-painted silk scarves.
I am always happy to show you my work by appointment, or to discuss with you commissions for murals, screens or other decorative projects.
